Wow.? This weekend was awesome, but it went by too fast!!? Jeromy and I flew to Massachusetts for my baby shower on Thursday night.? While there we squeezed in a trip to Fenway, time with family and friends and a little bit of shopping for our baby girl.
Tomorrow, I will give you a substantive post on pregnancy, but for today, I just want to share with you some of the pictures from my MA baby shower.? We flew home early this morning?I am EXHAUSTED from this weekend and can hardly wait to climb into bed.
My mom, my sister and my best friend did an amazing job putting together my baby shower.? I?ve said it before but I?ll say it again, we are so lucky that our baby girl is already surrounded by family and friends that love her so much.? Jeromy and I are completely overwhelmed by all of the love and support we?ve already received. We can?t wait to be able to introduce our baby girl to everyone!
Sunday was a bright and breezy day?perfect for a baby shower.? We went to a restaurant right on the water in Plymouth, East Bay Grille.? The space and the food was fantastic!
There was a gorgeous cake from my favorite bakery near my parents? house?Veronica?s Sweetcakes. I?m not a huge cake fan, but this place makes the best cakes ever.? They?re light and airy and full of flavor.? I picked a lemon cake with raspberry filling and a buttercream frosting.? And I ate more than one piece
My mom and I picked out the fresh flowers the day before and they did a great job using them to decorate the cake.? The favors were also perfect?sugar cookies decorated like onesies! Too.Freaking.Cute. And they were delicious?exactly the way a sugar cookie should be!
A friend from middle school is starting up her own business creating parasols and fans for weddings and baby showers and she generously sent one to me for my shower! It looked fantastic with all of the presents.
Jeromy?s grandfather was a huge fan!
After we ate lunch {I had teriyaki steak tips?delicious!}, we played the ?Guess How Big Lisa Is? game.
Most people guessed too big {I wasn?t sure how to take that} but Jeromy?s aunt and my friend Leah both guessed almost exactly right.? Winners!
Then, we cut the cake and started opening the presents.
My sister did a great job of keeping track of everything?and was a good sport for letting me dress her up in ribbons ? She?s going to be a wonderful Auntie.
Baby girl received a ton of presents.? Everyone brought a book for her collection and wrote notes in them, which makes them each so special.
The most creative gift of the day was from Jeromy?s cousins and aunt?they took a clothesline and hung all different clothes on it for the baby!
It started and kept going!
Such a fantastic idea, I am stealing it!
By the end of the day, I was feeling spoiled and very much surrounded by love.? I thank my lucky stars each and every day for my family and friends.?
As soon as we got home I insisted that Jeromy try on the Ergo baby carrier, with a fake baby, of course.
He?s a natural.
I can?t believe our first baby shower is over and the next one is this weekend.? Time is going SO fast.? It feels like yesterday I was telling you about our bun in the oven and now we are less than 9 weeks from meeting our baby girl.? I have so much more to share with you, I hope I can fit it all in!
