Ricky Gervais Makes Hollywood A 2 For 1 Offer: I'll Host The Globes & The Oscars (omg!)

British comedian Ricky Gervais has a deal he'd like to offer Hollywood - he'll host two upcoming 2012 awards shows - the Golden Globes and the Oscars - for a discounted price.

"I'll do it," he told Access Hollywood , employing his trademark dry, British wit on Wednesday at the 5th Annual Stand Up For Heroes event in New York City, when asked about the Oscars no longer having a host. "I'll do that as well. I'll be in town any way for the Globes."

When Access suggested he could kill two birds with one stone, Ricky shared his discounted price.

"Exactly, two for one offer," he smiled. "I can knock off 20 percent. Two for one deal. I'll just stay up there."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com , the Oscars are now in search of a host after Eddie Murphy stepped down on Wednesday. His exit followed producer Brett Ratner's departure on Tuesday.

Late Wednesday, Brian Grazer was tapped as the show's new producer.

When it comes to the Globes, Ricky hasn't actually signed on to host the event again, at least not yet.

He made headlines last year when he speared a host of Hollywood's elite with his jokes at the Globes, but Ricky told Access he is intrigued about the idea of heading up the ceremony again on January 15, 2012.

"They haven't asked me officially yet, and I don't know whether I'd say yes. It's very tempting," Ricky said.

"It's tempting [because] for three hours, I'm the most feared man in LA, so that's nice," he laughed.

Ricky seemed to confirm reports that NBC, the network which airs the Golden Globes, is behind him, but the body that puts on the ceremony hasn't put in their request.

"I think NBC wants me to do it, but [the] Hollywood Foreign Press have got to want me as well. It's their event. It's their party," he told Access.
