MOBILE MMOS, Massively Multiplayer Online Games | My Business ...

Massively multiplayer online (MMO) are online games ensuring that a large number of people can play the identical game at once in what is referred to as a persistent world. Even when one player or more log off from a game, the game continues even in their absence. When users get to log on again they will find that certain aspects of the game have changed and they have to adjust accordingly.
Initially MMOs were played using personal computers, though as time has gone on it is now possible to play these games on a mobile phone. Thanks to improved mobile connectivity and the rise of the Smartphone which offer increased display capability, faster data transfer speeds and increased processing power online gaming developers now have mobile MMOs that can be played on various devices.
Today mobile users are able to enjoy different mobile massively multiplayer online games. Unlike modern devices the earlier mobile phones were limited in their capability and graphics which couldn?t allow for online games. Today the games range from very simple and straight forward games to complex games that can keep a player on their phone or tablet for quite some time.
Mobile MMOs are divided into the two groups; traditional and casual games. Casual games are mainly played for a short period of times and focus on a single game. There are some however that involve many players but are still based on simple short games. Some of these games can be downloaded with a simple application whereas others are played in the browser.
The traditional games are drawn from the PC-massively multiplayer games. They are identical copies of what one would play online on their computer. This allows players to continue playing their online games since they can log on from their mobile device. This was initially not possible with earlier mobile phones due to the limitations they had with graphics and other functionalities. Modern mobile devices such as tablets and Smartphones are able to produce similar graphics to those offered by personal computers.
Mobile gaming is on the rise and with an increase in the demand for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets it is likely that this industry is set to grow. Indeed there has been an increase in the number of game developers for mobile systems and they seem to be growing rapidly and trying to integrate with other applications such as Facebook. It is estimated that those that mobile gamers spend at least half an hour daily this in translates into profits for those developing gaming applications.
Also important to note is that those in developing countries tend to use mobile phones more frequently than they do personal computers. Most of them have fairly big populations, and as a result the trend of MMOs is likely to grow in these regions giving a boost to the mobile gaming industry. It is likely that in coming years the mobile phone gamers with exceeding those that traditionally play online games on their PCs.
