NTUC buys advertorial space in Straits Times to self-promote the govt-controlled trade union

This is pathetic on so many levels.

One, that NTUC (anagram for CCB?) seemingly has to pay for an advertorial to spew its message. Kind of like those customers paying for the underage prostitute's services.

Two, of course the NTUC CAN start a strike. But will it ever? Who's in charge of it, Karl Marx? The chances of NTUC starting a full blown strike which leads to better outcomes for workers are about the same as Madam HC outperforming Warren Buffet in investing. Or Saw Phaik Hwa doing her own train maintenance.

Three, the NTUC's name is a classic doublethink phrase. A Trades Union Congress which, by design, does frack-all for low income workers is like the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's 1984, which publishes and updates all the lies.
